It is essential for us to keep our sponsors and supporters up to date with current news and results of our sailors both while at home and while overseas on the campaign trail . We employed Sinuous to develop a site that could have multiple contributors and be updatable from any internet café in the world. Using Lucid, we are able log in from any PC to submit news and results, upload photo’s and send out newsletters to our supporters.

Our sailors keep detailed log books of all their training. One problem we used to have was the sailors were not always filling in their log books after training. So using the custom database module we set up a system where the sailors could enter their daily log books online. Our coaches can keep track of who is up to date and compare various settings and notes between boats and sailors. This tool alone has been invaluable in the development of our sailing. We can download detailed statistics about our boat settings, wind conditions and crews and compare all our boats with each other to find out what settings and techniques are working in various conditions.

We also added the events module this season. Having all the Otago sailing events listed on our website has increased the traffic to our site and has become the number one place to get Otago regatta information, helping boost the profile of our trust along the way.

I am the owner/operator of a complex growing destination tourist business. Our customers come from all over the world to Soar with us for one to three weeks. All our bookings and most of our promotions are done on the internet so that a dynamic web site that is attractive and can be easily updated is essential.
We chose Sinuous to create our web site because their Lucid web engine enables us to maintain and control our own site. The many features of Lucid have helped us to grow the site as the business grew. For example we have incorporated booking and administrative systems onto the web site when we needed to. By having control we can develop the site when it is timely for us and we can fine tune details as we go along.

So far we have used the Lucid editing features:

• to create new sections and web pages and up date pictures and text on existing pages
• to create a booking and payment system which is records in a data base which can then be displayed on the site
• to create various forms including secure payment forms.
• create a page of dynamic weather information

In the future we will use Lucid features to maintain our photo gallery, news letters and an online shop.

The Lucid system has been pretty easy to understand and any problems have been quickly solved by the Sinuous team. Support has been excellent. We like the way that Lucid is still evolving as new developments in turn stimulate us to improve our site
